Calendar 2009 Coming Soon!

Well, I've been busy refining ideas and today i also wanted to offer a sneak peak at the 2009 Calendar that I'm attempting to finish and release before the year is over. I wanted to combine two ideas, calendar's and poster's without creating the sometimes unnecessary space of four rows to represent a month and seven boxes to the days of week, instead i created a row of numbers to represent the days of the month. I created rounded yellow rectangles to represent the weekends and the important holidays would be highlighted by a dominant color found in the image that would represent an important holiday of the month. In this case Valentines Day. Hope everyone enjoys it and i'll post its release here at my blog.

Almost the last day

Its almost the last day of work, I start doodling like their is no tomorrow. I hope i finish my school work.

Cafe a la Noir

A couple days ago my sister Netsirk reminded me to draw her a skull that i had promised to make for her. Sometimes i need to be reminded a few times before shit gets done.

I sat in a coffee house not far from my Apartment. I drew, I wrote, and I gazed at the beautiful scenery around me listening to the Red House Painters and like a brick to the face, the idea was born.

The skull ended up being an abstract portrayal of a calavera a sugar skull, a treat used in "Day of the dead" celebration instead of the classic human skull look. The calavera are traditionally made of colorful designs. To keep with tradition i choose bright colors as well. Day of the Dead (dia de los muertos or all saints' day) is held on November 1 or November 2. Its a day to honor the dead and to celebrate the continuation of life.

1/2 Assed: Gamer

This is the first attempt at a web comic. Its called 1/2 Assed. Its a comic starring two lovable people, me (JJ a.k.a Sake) and my good friend (Andy a.k.a Biru).

Its about two guys hanging around, talking about themselves, art, gaming, culture or the everyday annoyances at work or around the city, San Francisco. The Idea started from another well known web comic, Penny Arcade , check it out if you haven't.

Today comic is in relation to Biru's attempt at mastering a PSP Game and the frustration he went through during a period of several weeks. The comic mimics the National threat level: Red(Severe), Orange(High), Yellow(Elevated), blue(Guarded), Green(low).

The begining of BETA

I have finally finished redrawing and retouching the new poster for AM. One of the members of BETA. BETA is a new comic I've been working on recently. It will be released on my blog on a two week basis in sequential format.

BETA is a comic that follows the adventures of AM and FACELESS (the main characters) in odd situations as they look for parts for their ship to go home.

Genesis

This is my Genesis....

In the beginning, GOD created man, or something like that, and man said, "What? What am I supposed to do? Play with myself?" GOD said, "Yes! be a man." GOD knowing that man would eventually sue him for sexual harassment. GOD decided to create woman, did I mention how much I love god for this. So, when woman and man came together for the first time it was like a pack of wolves and a T bone steak. This scene is Censored. You need a permission slip for this one, I couldn't get mine signed so I can't tell you how this shit happens. I know, I missed out and i would have paid attention to this part. Damn. Anyways, GOD hearing--what's her name?--EVA screaming and panting decided to kick them out. "...but, how?" GOD thought. GOD had no reason. One day, EVA and the GUY(its not like she had much too choose from) were having too much fun that they didn't realize GOD--that sneaky bastard--had shaken the forbidden apple tree until one of the apples fell onto EVA's breast. The GUY(being too drugged on lonely girl) did not realize the apple was not EVA's breast and bit it. The apples majestic flavor rushed to his brain and the 2001 the space odyssey happened (the scene of: prehistoric man-apes and the monolith). It was the seventies all over again. GOD came down and said, "You're banished from my kingdom for eating the fruit of knowledge." From that point on GOD enjoyed his peace and quite. Nothing to disturb him from the Copa America.
